Getting God’s Attention

Guest speaker Mike East shares with us the story of Esther and how she had to get the attention of the king before she could petition for mercy for the Jewish people. Similarly, we need to meet the Biblical criteria to get God's attention - we need to humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our own ways.

The Way

This Easter Sunday, guest speaker Jonathan Maki celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ by reminding the Church that He is the way, the truth and the life. And that way is clearly defined in the Bible as the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus. We must die to our sins, be buried in His name in water baptism, and be resurrected into new life through the infilling of the Holy Ghost to make heaven our home.

Garments

Guest speaker Jonathan Maki explores the book of Jude as it relates to the purity of the Church. Without Jesus, we are polluted, stained, and filled with sin. But just as blind Bartimaeus cast away his outward garment as Jesus passed by, we must turn from our own righteousnesses and accept the righteous garments of God through the crucifixion of Christ Jesus.

The Relapse

Guest speaker Rev. David Meyer (Pastor Living Word, New Berlin, WI) shares his story of personal tragedy. But instead of blaming others, he encourages us to really accept responsibilities for our own actions despite our pride. We need to follow everything that God has put in place for life's principles to avoid relapsing back into our hurts, habits and hangups; and that includes availing ourselves to others for support.

Letting God Put A Super Upon Our Natural

Just because we come into a relationship with God, not everything in our lives will be perfect. Guest speaker Stephen Drury reminds us that God never promised to take away all of our problems. But just as James encouraged the twelve tribes of Israel, Rev. Drury encourages us not to give up whenever we find ourselves in unpleasant circumstances. God will redeem unto His purpose in due time if we commit our time, talent, and treasure to His cause.

Speak Lord

When God speaks, it changes things. Guest speaker Joe Don Calhoun (pastor of Life Spring Church, Brookfield, WI) reminds us that God's Word is eternal. It outlives everything in this world. And when God speaks His Word over our lives, He is committed to fulfilling that Word, but it will be according to His timeline, not necessarily ours.
