Why Do Christians Suffer?

Becoming a Christian doesn't shield us from suffering; it merely gives us a companion. Pastor Rick Kielley teaches that sometimes God uses suffering to test our faith. Other times, suffering can yield spiritual growth and strength. And suffering can purge our lives of hindrances.

Stars & Stripes Forever

This Independence Day weekend, Pastor Rick Kielley discusses the connection between the nation of Israel, the United States, and the Church. In the Old Testament, God began with the Jews when He promised a great nation to Abraham. But in the New Testament, He has poured out His Spirit on all nations. Consequently, He wants us to be the stars in a darkened world.

I Need to Find My Place

Life conversations often involve places. Pastor Rick Kielley recounts the story of how Jacob diligently sought a place with God prior to meeting his brother Esau. Similar to Jacob's struggle with the angel, we need a determination in our prayer lives and our commitment with God. Then, we need to mark the places in our lives where God does great things for us.

A Cripple at the King’s Table

Despite Mephibosheth's crippled physical condition, which would have ordinarily precluded his fellowship with David the king, David restored Saul's possessions to Jonathan's son Mephibosheth. Similarly, Pastor Rick Kielley reminds us that we are all crippled in the site of God; yet we have an advocate in the form of Christ Jesus who has made a way for us to sit at the King's table.

Before God Does, I Do

Even though God used His supernatural abilities to create the heavens and the earth, He requires us to do the natural before He manifests His power in our lives. Pastor Rick Kielley suggests that if our lives are lacking God's presence, perhaps it's due to our own inactions. The Bible instructs us to "do justly", to love mercy (not just for ourselves but for others as well), and to walk humbly.
